Cupping

Cupping draws old blood and cellular debris out of tight muscle tissue into the watery matrix between your muscle and fascia.

What is cupping?

Imagine your muscle tissue, needing oxygen, which is delivered by red blood cells. When the muscle gets tight the fibers stick together, much like overcooked spaghetti. Some of the red bloods cells that so kindly brought oxygen to the tissue can get stuck in that sticky muscle fiber, causing the tissue to become tighter and more painful. Cupping is simply a technique using suction to pull that out of your tissue so your body’s lymph can wash it away. What you can expect from cupping are threefold, round “hickey” like marks on your skin, possibly an achy feeling and relief from sore muscles.
